The Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources has scheduled a mark up (votes will be taken) on February 24 to consider H.R. 765, the Nellis Dunes National Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area Act. This legislation was introduced by Rep. Dean Heller (R-NV). It directs the Bureau of Land Management to manage, protect and designate approximately 9,200 acres of the Nellis Dunes area for open unrestricted riding and conveys approximately 1,150 acres of Nellis Dunes area to Clark County for its Parks and Recreation Department to develop race courses and support area for parking, rest rooms, and other commercial support services.

The American Motorcyclist Association supports H.R. 765 and urges its members and, all motorcycle and ATV (all-terrain vehicle) riders, to contact their elected representatives on the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources and voice support for this legislation.

You can find contact information for your elected officials at AmericanMotorcyclist.com >Rights > Issues & Legislation, then enter your zip code in the "Find your Officials" box.
