Shorten bars?

I just got my new handguards in, thanks to RLT! Now, the question, how much do you guys shorten your handlebars for woods riding? 2 or 3 inches? Does this have a major impact on track riding?

On my TTR I 'think' the overall width with barkbusters was only 29". I vaguely remember cutting aprrox 3/4" off each side. I haven't cut down the bars on the KTM (yet) and they are a hair under 31", feels a bit too wide. Aimee's KTM has just a hair over 32" bars and it feels WIDE - I whack every damn tree in sight with her bike. I think I would be happy with 30" - can't say I spend enough time on a track for any real opinion there but I've never thought to myself, boy I really wish my bars were 2" wider.

I took 3/4 of an inch off each end of my "woods" bars. You want to be careful about taking to much off at a time. If you don't take enough you can always cut them again
