looking at buying new rubber and was wondering what would be a good choice. Live in PA and ride on a MX Track but also trail ride. Looking at the Michelin S12 or M12, just because of what I've heard. Any rec's would be appreciated.

Just took a 755 off the front tonight and will run an S 12 this weekend so'I'll report back. I run an S-12 rear and that is my tire back there...no more guessing on that one. I'm hoping the S 12 wears better than the 755 although I've got about 1400 miles on the 755! All trail with some connector road miles.

I've just discovered that brand and price don't always mean the best. My son work at the parts counter in a bike shop and sold me a rear "Vee Ruber" copy of a Dunlap thats made in Thailand. It's very strong (6 ply rating) and has very good grip. It was also just ofer $30 for a 110/100-18. Guess I'll see this season how it holds up.

Probably a matter of personal opinion...but while the S12 was a GREAT traction tire, it didn't brake for DIDDLE!

What works best for you depends hugely on how you ride, where you ride. 'Round here, dunlop 756s are the choice front/rear by just about everybody..track OR woods.

I have the S12 rear on my KDX 220 and have no complaints. I ride trails in the mountains so the terrain varies from dirt to sharp rocks. So far so good.

I run Dunlop 756's on my vintage racers, but on the trail I run the IRC Volcanduro along with a few other riding buddies. I did run the IRC on the vintage motocrosser for a while, it worked fine. I'm also running Dunlop 752's on a 78 KX125 and they hook up and break well too.
