How did P.carpenter get 3rd overall? A 3-10 finish is 13pts. Both Tedesco and Ramsey got 12pts with Tedesco getting the Moto 2 tiebreaker.

As the columns show a 3 (20pts) and 10 (11 pts) totals 31 pts for the day, Tedesco, Ramsey, and Schnell each had 30 points for the day with appropriate tiebreakers deciding the order.

You don't add the totals with lowest amount wins, it is based on points awarded per moto based on the following:

1st 25pts
2nd 22 pts
3rd 20 pts
4th 18 pts
5th 16 pts
6th 15 pts
4th 14 pts and so down to 20th being 1 point.

Great to see Yogi back and doing well after his serious SX injuries.

In moto 2, Schnell started well, lost 2nd place to Milsaps, and then reeled Davi back in and gapped him by the finish. And he was only 10 seconds back of Bubba - that's as close as anybody has come in awhile. Nice job!

Hepler got a bad Moto 2 start but was lapping as fast as Bubba, and was hounding Milsaps at the finish. Hepler has gotta be the favorite for the '05 title.

RC - what can you say? He's lapping 3+ seconds faster than Bubba, and beating Chad handily.

Under AMA rules if you have not left the starting area by the time the leader completes the first lap, you cannot join the race. I heard Walker was involved in a starting line mishap, got going again, but not until the leader finished lap 1.

I read on another board that he got in a pileup off the start and was getting lapped on his 1st lap but still racing people so they black flagged him. Don't know if that's the real deal or not.

Yep, raced with 4 different promoters here in the bay area CA and all add your position #'s to get total. We don't get individual moto scores, only an overall. Even at Hangtown they scored it that way for us. I never knew there was any other way. :think:

I think he was being facetious. We all know that JS and RC are
going to win. Maybe the AMA can NASCARise the races and
start adding weight to their bikes, or taking away one HP until

"The second moto went from bad to worse when Walker suffered a minor crash and could not re-start his KX250F. Then, when a member of the team fired up his bike; he was disqualified for receiving “outside assistance.” Matt was not happy as he made his way back to the pits"
