Craig, Thank you for the update!!! I was in Gaylord earlier this week and they still had a ton of snow. Please do give another update in a week or two.
The picture????? I will start the bidding at one Jack Pine T shirt.

Mark, due to jealousy...I hope your luck with the weather follows you to Hilton Head. Snow is unlikely, but rain.....:p :p

Hey Lcotite,
I do not see any other bids on the pciture. Do I win??
Any chance you can make it down from Lansing for dinner in a couple of weeks? You could bring the picture.:p If not, my dad is in the process of moving to Lake City. I could pick it up on my next trip to his new house.

Snow Update

Thought you might want an update on snow. Up here around Atlanta still to much. the rain Friday and Saturday did do major damage - not enough though. Saturday Night and Sunday that rain became snow :( We did not really get tons of new stuff - lots of blowing and drifting. It will melt ...It will melt... (my wife says I have been mumbling that at night in my sleep)

If the ride ends up starting on 4/4 I may be able to join you. time will tell.

All in unison now... "it will melt"

Brian,

Sorry you can not make it in April. There will be many more riding opportunities this year.
Did you see the post on the rescheduling of the reunion in the Places to Ride forum? Are you coming?

My work is taking me to Gaylord again this evening. My plan is to stop in Leota on the return trip. Maybe I will go two trackin' in my Taurus.:ugg:
I do plan to provide an update on the condition of the trails (and snow levels).

At this time, Fred and I were planning to go riding on Saturday (4/6). I may be in the area all weekend. If somebody wants to play hokey (or take a vacation day) on Friday (4/5), I would be interested. I could even be around for a short ride on Sunday. My dad is in the process of moving north and I wil be helping him on this weekend.

Cross your fingers!

Lets hope the woods is clear! The upcoming rain may help those last bits of ice and snow disappear as long as no more falls!
Thanks for the update Mike.

I woke up in Gaylord on Wednesday AM to find 5 inches of new snow on the ground. I was not a happy campter.
I did drive around some of the trails in the Leota area on the way back to Lansing on Wednesday afternoon. There is still small pockets of snow on the ground in the woods. There was more snow on the two tracks. We need some more warm weather and some rain to help melt the snow. We still have two weeks.

Thanks Mike

Good to know Leota didn't get dumped on like the west side of the state. With 2 weeks left we should get our weather back on track and if we catch some rain and a few warm days we should be good to go. Just avoid the north loop!

See ya April 6th.
