Yamaha Yz250f 2009 - Engine Rebuild

Hi,

My boss has just finished rebuilding his engine. When he was done, he found one part that is left over and is not sure where it goes inside the engine. Does anyone know what this part is and where it goes?

That looks like the washer for the sideplate where it connects to the upper subframe / seat area.

id agree, that looks like a washer/spacer for shrouds or rear side number plates on subframe, does not look like a engine washer to me, have him look at all this plastic mounting bolt holes to see if ones missing or if there the same as this one.

If it is an essential bushing in the engine then the engine should be torn apart again to find out where it goes.

Looks like the shift shaft bushing that goes in the slot in the internal end of the shift shaft. If it is only about a 1/2" in diameter, that is what it is. If so, you will have to remove the clutch to replace it. If it is missing you will have slop in your shift lever.
