My Z50 clutch doesn't disengage enough. What's the procedure for adjusting it?

On the clutch cover, loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster screw clockwise until you feel reisitance, then back off a quarter turn. Tighten the locknut while holding the screw to keep it from turning.

If the clutch is dragging, you may have other issues.

Is the idle set too high?

Is the oil too heavy?

Thanks, Vic. I had the clutch cover off so I could paint it, and I moved the adjustment when I put it back together with a new stainless nut and washer.

Not sure about the idle. It doesn't do that. :) I rebuilt the stock carb, but its performance is less than impressive. I'm considering using an XR70 carb to feed the Kitaco 75cc big bore.

I made a special trip to Wally World to buy the proper oil. I'm running Castrol 10w30.
