Discussing The 2021 Orlando Two Supercross Track Changes With Mike Muye
Due to weather issues that delayed and limited the build, Feld Entertainment made the decision to keep the track design mostly the same for the 2021 Orlando Two Supercross, round eight of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
During our visit to Camping World Stadium on Friday, we grabbed a few moments with Mike Muye, Senior Director of Operations, to go over the reasons why an all-new track was scrapped and what changes Dirt Wurx did instead.
“Immediately following Orlando One Supercross, we did a full maintenance of the track and re-covered it in plastic to preserve what we had,” explained a media announcement. “Three full days are required to safely change over the track to the original concept for Orlando Two, and unfortunately, the weather throughout this week did not cooperate, and the base was saturated to the point that we did not want to traverse equipment on it. The best course of action to provide the best racetrack for Saturday’s Orlando Two race was to keep the same track configuration with new obstacles.”
