as I posted in the other thread, I also run the clip in pos.1 (to be honest, I lowered the needle seat 1mm so i could make it 1 Pos. leaner than stock).
for me the suspension was top and the motor was disappointing, but with a good pipe it could be a great motor ;)

S4 nozzle in the '01 helps oodles, or just get the JD jetting kit. If your '01 motor was disapointing, it wasn't jetted right. I wish my '02-'05 CR's had that "disapointing" '01 motor !

do you realize that you are quite possibly the only person in the world to ever say that when referring to an '01 cr 250?

do you realize that only honda riders who have never ridden a kawi or yami say that :p
but to be honest, if you like plenty of power on top, the cr is first choice. I prefer a lot of pull down low and it's a fact the cr doesn't have it compared to KX and YZ

LMAO! Yeah, that is true. My friend has an 01 CR250 with brand new cylinder and piston FMF pipe and silencer, V Force reeds, larger rear sprocket. He gets so mad that I smoke him off the line with my stock KX. :nener:

The best thing that I did for my 01 was to replace the stock Mic carb with a Keihen (sp?) from a 2000 CR250. There is a long thread on this conversion somewhere on this site. I never could get the stock carb to stay jetted right. This conversion costs around $200 (from Servicehonda.com) if I recall correctly and is a direct drop in replacement.

Ditto to this:
"The best thing that I did for my 01 was to replace the stock Mic carb with a Keihen".
I never even ran the bike with the stock carb. Anyone need an unused Mikuni for an '01 CR250?

Every year this bike just gets better...so I'm hangin on to it until the "Will-imposing 4 stroke advocates" pry it's grips from my cold, dying hands.
