my kick starter loses compression after two kicks it gets to the point where u barely have to push to move it

yesterday i was riding and the bike just randomly shut off on me.(not sure if i fouled a plug or not) and then i tried to kick start it and this loud clank sound came from the motor. and now it wont shift.

this is my first bike so I'm learning as I go.

Any help would be great thanks

Buy some tools and a service manual. You are about to become a motorcycle mechanic.

if the clutch was broken would the bike be able to start or not?
the bikes backfires now could the clutch have anything to do with that?

It probably isn't the clutch. Perhaps check the seal at the top of the Cylinder, my friend had the same thing happen to his CR125, but the kick actually froze. He was riding and it just shut off, like you said. I highly recommend not riding it until you find out what is wrong because it could put you in the hole about $400.

Check the seal and for damage to the piston and cylinder.
