Just got off the road driving back to Portland, OR from Lake Elsinore, CA. Did over 600 miles on Monday ... over 400 miles today. oh yah... we're a little tired.

But did we have fun? :yeehaw:

Had a ball, got some great jump pics off of the tabletop, and Susan (The Ant) and Jennifer got 6 laps in on their Women's Race on Saturday!

Pierre managed to have the GPR guys mount up a new steering stabilizer for him - but it didn't keep some yahoo from ramming him and causing a crash. Pierre got up and still managed to get in 5 laps... and without any rear brake! (Pierre is my new hero...) :thumb:

I had a ball, got big air (for me) on the tabletop, had no crashes, had way too much fun, and saw 72mph on front street. :scream:

Totally bushed - so crashin' now. Will write more tomorrow.

Did I mention we had a ball? :yeehaw:

Had an utter blast.
Weather was perfect, track had been groomed very nicely Saturday morning, women's race was 3rd up and track was great. Laps were 3.9 miles, took us a bit less than 8 minutes per lap (did 6 laps). Last year our women's group did 5 laps each - we improved! The difficult part for us tho was that they combined us with the 125's, including the experts....talk about feeling like a rock in the road, geez do they fly by... and altho they're pretty good for the most part, Jen did get knocked down once, so that's kinda scarey. The race is over when the first guys hit 40 minutes.
I am slow out of the gate, Jennifer is still Queen of the First Lap - plus she beat me this year, but I felt like I raced really well and didn't fall once - a first! They posted unofficial times: only have relationships to the other racers tho, not overall times: Jennifer beat me by 22 seconds... which isn't much, however when you calculate back its almost a quarter of a mile - shows how much distance you lose when you do crash! Figure we were averaging about 30 mph (Randy's odo said he hit 72mph on the straightaway through town!), so was fast and furious. Jen finished middle of the beginners (10 total?), I was last of 7 or 8 novices, but within a minute of 3rd. Winners of each class did 7 laps.
By Randy and my age group race on Sunday (40 and 50+ novice and beginner), the track was Way Rough... but I felt tremendous, started near the very back, passed a BUNCH of the old guys, got 6 laps again...AND... was only 29 seconds behind Randy (again if one can believe the unofficial times)!! WooHoo! We figured all my Oregon Schooling (thanks again Nicole and Kerrie!) helped me make up time on him in the corners, there was a curvy rough ridge road plus the mx course. When they went well, I was standing on my outside peg, bars cranked in, and gunning it.
We'll post the links to the photos when they show up on the web, saw a few tho - mine is a bit better than last years, Randy's is better yet - Jennifer's is all sky.... a big wow.
My funnest moment was when we got back to the car and talked with a couple old guys who we'd chatted with before the race, Randy told them I'd done 6 laps (which I wasn't sure of at the time) and one goes to the other under his breath "No way did she do 6 laps".... Haha! Did so!!! ;-)

Elsinore was a blast! As always there was a lot of trash talk and good times with Randy and Susan. Susan wore her Ant antennaes suction cupped to her helmet. Despite the dust, the antennae made it thru the race!!!!! I was quite impressed.

The women rode on Sat which gave us great dirt and a well groomed track. We were very lucky... as the track degraded over the weekend. I was puttering along... just caught up with two girls running at the same speed as myself... very fun... and several of those screaming fast 125's took me out. All of the adrenaline running, I picked up the bike and tried to catch back up. Never made it back to those ladies but had an AWESOME time.

Randy and Susan both made it through their races without falls. This year Pierre and I were victims of circumstance but that is racing. Pierre has road rash from the payment and I have a beautiful multi colored bruise under my arm. Looks similiar to Natalies bruise after the Piglet.

Thanks to Randy and Susan for an excellent weekend!

After one Reno trip and now Elsinore, the antennae are losing some of their glitter - will see how they fare at the next Moonrocks! Here are some pics from the race Pierre pulled from the mxphotos site:
(sorry I couldn't pull them thru live, but they will work if you cut and paste them to the address line in Yahoo, not the subject search line tho, at least in mine).
