I log my mileage also. BTW I also rate each ride from one to four starts.....95% are four stars. But back to the subject; my 99 220R has 3600 miles and I haven't done a top end job yet. I was going to do it this past winter, but it just doesn't show any symptoms of needing it. I'm sure the power valve could stand a cleaning, but it's going to have to wait until next winter. It used to be common practice with air cooled two strokes to de-carbonize and refresh the top end at least every year, but I think with the water cooling and plated cylinder, it's like the energizer bunny and keeps on going and going.
