04 yz450f wont idle

i just bought a stock 04 yz450f the bike wont idle if u tunr the idle up it does better but if ur ridin around and the rpms get below this certain spot it die.

the bike has the lid off of it and has the baffles taken out of it.what could be my issue iv been told vavle by one person but serveral have told me that the bike needs a jet kit and that it sounds like the low speed jets r clogged.what yall opinion????


p.s. before i got the bike it sat quite often

Sounds like your jets could be clogged. Remove the float bowl and clean all of the jets, especially the slow jet. Also clean out the accelerator pump. Tight valves will also cause the bike not to idle. Check your valve adjustment.

checked the vavle and they are all inspect so i guess time to do the carb.should i jet it or just clean it

Just clean them. Once you get it running right, then you can worry about proper jetting. If you don't already have a service manual you should get one. It will show you how to service your motorcycle.
