Hi everyone my neghibor has a kx 85 and it always seems to score the piston on the exhaust side. They cant figure out how to fix it. I think the bridge is to narrow and deflaets under high heat and presses against the piston skirt causing it to score. Please help this is getting annoying when I hear the bike needs a new top end all the time. thank you.

i meant to say the piston is scored by the port bridge. and wow I said deflates i should have said deflects. yes that is the best possible thing to do. i just think it is fun to try and figure it out myself. problem solved. cheers

Eric gives free cylinder evaluation! I just sent a KX100 top end to him and he sure shed some light on some things for me! And I am taking his advice and having US Chrome replate it so that I don't have to worry about it anymore!
Eric will be able to tell you if the exhaust bridge needs more clearance or what is going on for sure. Why not get the answer from the 2 stroke master himself?
