was wondering what you guys think....I have a 2006 KX85 with maybe 8 hours on it just picked up, and just took it out and back braks acted like ABS......almost like that feeling of having no back breaks.....checked the white resovoir and its full........any input would be great...thanks....also, looks like the pads on the front and back are riding right on the rotors.....is that normal? thank you

what I mean by on the rotor is like the pads are always resting on the rotors(not like a 10 speed) where the pads move when applied.....I was looking closer at the rear pads, and noticed oil or something on the rotors which made the pads lubbed with oil, so I'm wondering if thats what made me almost lose my breaks today on the rear. I'm not sure where the oil came from. It was on the side of the rear tire, so maybe it spilled from the guys truck that dropped the bike off to me, who knows....
Now.......another thing I noticed today was a weird smell coming out of my muffler. It didnt smell like oil...it smelled more like a over heated clutch. I'm certain the smell was coming from the tail pipe. Doesnt seem like the bike is losing any power. I'm wondering if I should have a top end done to be certain seeing I don't know the bikes maintenace. I'm the second owner I know for sure, but knowing for peace of mind can save me worry and money knowing its done, and I can start keeping up with the maintenance for a better peace of mind. To me, the clutch doesnt seem to be adjusted right. In 1st gear(with the clutch lever applied) the bike wants to creap forward.....whats up with that? Thanks guys

Brake pads will rest against the rotors, that's normal. Get some brake clean, Make sure it's the kind with a GREEN label. Green label has no chlorine, which will attack rubber.

The weird smell may be just the smell of the 2 Stroke Oil you have in the bike.

Doing a top end would certainly be a good thing for piece of mind, at the very least I'd open it up and have a look. And measure everything. Make sure it's all within spec.

My bikes will creep when in gear.. It's pretty common.
