They're coming. Word is the 06 Husky is coming with 50 state street legal equipment out of the box. Thats for the TE 250, 450, 510 and 610. I checked out the pics at taskysmetriccycle.com
Basically a full on enduro race bike w/e start. Could be interesting.

I got my 2006 TE510 last week. Even had some nice ride at last Saturday. It was "little" rainy, but I was happy! ;)

Tell us if its plated, and if so, were there any problems getting that done? Does it have the 50 mm Zokes up front? NICE.

There was a nice little piece on Two Wheel Tuesday this week on the release of the '06 Husky's. They showed the mx bikes and then the enduros. It was wonderful to see the attention given a non-Jap manufacturer. I have always been a big fan of Husky (owned and '82 250 CR). They are beautiful machines IMO and with the Ohlins shock and the legal kit these things are absolutely awesome. Unfortunately there is no local dealer support for me anymore since Cagiva got into its financial mess. Hopefully they stay strong on this side of the pond and their network and supply grows. I'd love to give one of those TE450's a spin.

I too am looking at one of these now, I found out from my CA dealer that when you buy you get the plate same as buying a street bike. So no fuss at DMV, the dealer does all the paper work and DMV sends you a plate.

Hard to decide as the 250/450/510 are all within a few lbs of each other. The 610 with a Cat Converter is out of the question at over 300 lbs.

In looking at the specs the 450/510 appear to be exactly the same except for a tad longer stroke which IMO would make it more torquey in the woods and possibly a less touchy throttle. My dealer has the 250 & 450 in stock and 510 is available to order..I am amazed.

He said they are tall, anyone care to comment on seat height or tank capacity?

Bore & Stroke

Something I just noticed on the TE450 is that it has a 600 size bore and a 250 size stroke. I don't think I know of any other 400/450's running a 97mm bore. The stroke is the same on a DRZ250.

As far as the bikes being tall, they do take quite a while for the suspension to settle in which is better over the long haul but they are very easy to adjust to different riders needs as any bike. The bar mounts are reversible so they can be adjusted to forward or rear position. Newest I rode was an '04 TC 450. The www.husqvarnausa.com site should have all the specs up by now but not the gas tank. There'll be an aftermarket tank but I bet the current tanks are just a shade over 2 gallons. I think the shorter stroke is gonna make a rev a little quicker but it should get power everywhere.

My impression

I just got back from the Dealer today and checked one out.
Man..those things are tall, seat over 38".
In its off the showroom set up it should be a nice desert ride yet street legal to trail hop.
I however ride Rubicon stuff for fun, dual sports and an occasional enduro now days so was turned off by the height.

The forks can be moved up in the triple clamp and not sure how much more sag can be adjusted but looks like maybe you could bring it down an inch which for smaller riders is still kinda tall when use to a more common 36" seat found on other enduros.

By the time you add up destination, set-up, license and msrp you are looking at 8K. Hard to swallow but a Honda 450X is right in there too and it won't come with a plate.

The tank looked small and the dealer didn't know the capacity so range is questionable for a dual sport or enduro ride.
Anyone know what the wheel base is on these? I should have brought a tape measure cuz the dealer didn't know. I don't like long bikes in the woods and from what I remember Husky 4-strokes have always been longer that the others.

I think I still want one..

I'm considering a '94 610.. It is in perfect condition but needs the Ducati stator re-wired... It can be made street legal pretty easily (I think).. Any opinions?
The seller is asking 1,000
He had it inspected by a service shop, and they said it was in mint condition, with only 1,100 miles.

I like the bike, and It fits me well (6'5", 190, age 17). I'm just getting into bikes, but it seems like a really good deal.

Any comments?

I just got the '06 Husky TE-450 and love it. The performance is ten times better than my old DRZ-400S. The only negative I can think of is it is not too comfortable for highway use. I only use it to connect trails anyway.

I thought that might be the case on the highway so leaving out dual sports gave way to more trails and thus the 250. If I was doing more open terrain i would have gone for the 450 for sure.

wwwmMotoXotica.com ordered it for me and it only took 8 days from the factory to the west coast. i pick it up Saturday.
