Was wondering if you have to split the case to remove a water pump impeller shaft? And if there is a gasket you can replace to stop liquid comming out of the weep hole, or is this gonna cost me $$$?
Not too familiar with your bike, but you shouldn't have to split the cases. The water pump should be housed in the crank case COVER. If you drain the coolant and remove this cover you can remove the shaft and replace the seals (water and oil seals) quite easily if needed, and the seals are cheap.
You should also check the bearing too - you will have to remove it anyway.
I did the whole water pump on a cr250 a while back. The only costly part was the shaft itself. The bearing and seals were cheap.
