My wife is ready to make the jump to a better bike than her XR200. She has ridden a 200 E/XC and really likes it.There is a 125 E/XC in the paper for sale. I was just wondering if the two bikes compare at all.The 200 seems to have the powerband of a 4 stroke. Is the 125 the same or do you have to rev it to the moon to get it to move?

the 200 has quite a bit of low end stock. With an FMF gnarly pipe and TC2 it has a whole bunch of low end, no need to rev if you don't want to....haven't rode the 125 exc....

i have a 200 & have ridden a 125 exc. there is more difference between the 2 bikes than you'd expect. the 200 has way more power everywhere, but you pay the price for it in that the 125 also handles more quickly b/c it doesn't have to fight the extra power.

Depending upon the trail riding you an your wife do,either bike is perfect. The only thing you should consider for the 200cc is how easy it will be for your wife to start. My advice:let her test the bike.
