your chain must not be long enough.

longer chain (just a little) moves the tire(sprocket) back in the swing-arm
away from the chain guide. This also helps if your tire is a snug fit width wise.

a 13/50 sprocket combo requires a 110 link chain rather than the stock 108 link.
