I stumbled across some folks using 13/49 in the archives and they switched to 110 links - but they were at 7+ on the adjuster snail.

I am trying to up my ratio just a bit to allow the KDX to relax a bit on long straight stretches - so I think I have settled on 14/49 - this seems to be 3.2% over stock, just want I wated.

My gut tells me that 110 should be just about perfect for 14/19 - but I didnt want to be too short. Anyone running 14/49 - if so - what links and how do you like the switch?

Cheers,

Sean

Why don't you try 13/46 - it's only a little lower in the gearing than the 14/49, and you can use the stock chain. Also, if you need to gear it lower for any reason, you can swap the 13 front for a 12, which is perfect gearing for the steeper hills (same as 13/50) and you still keep the stock chain length.

you could also opt for the 45 rear and change between 12 & 13 CS sizes in the same way, but I couldn't say what chain length you need there.

cheers,

110 will be perfect for 14/49 - I've settled on 13/49 with 110 to get the axle back a bit in the adjusters, and slow down the steering just a bit. Puts me at about 8 on the adjuster with a fresh chain.

With a 14 C/S you'd be right around 5.5 or so.
