Why is this old piece of junk so fast? I have a all around modified '87 KDX200 that will whip a 125 anyday. But, this one seems to be a diffrent case! My brothers '79 CR will whip my KDX! Why? What is in it that makes it faster? It doesn't have any powervalves, does it?

Ok, On to my "real" question... How can I set the timing on it? I think it may be a tad bit off. I don't have the service manual for it. So, I can't set the timing back. The idiot that had it before me tried to change it and forgot one of the plate screws and it tore up the charge coils and flywheel. So, I had them fixed and now I need to set the timing...

Thanks

just rebuilt one - all original - still had the original top end and no wear! original 23 inch up front with original tires. Check out the picks. I found the right Tahitian Red for the frame but did not use it on the engine - needed high temp paint. Also updated the rear shocks to brand new progressives - work fine. Great bike!

If I recall there are two screws holding down a plate under the left case cover. There should be a line on the plate and a triangle on the case, just line them up.
