I have a 81 KTM GS250 enduro.Unfortunetly I have cracked & porous crankcases. The crack is on the ignition side running on the inside from the the barrel stud down.I have attempted to tig weld but unsucessfully the bike runs the same.Ie it tends to start after a few kick but won't open out more than just above tickover.I hear that porous crankcases are common with this era of bikes.Ie magnesium ally exposed to dampness over time.Anybody know anywhere where I can get new cases?I believe that the 81 engine is is very diffrent to the pre 1981 & post 81 engines (reed valve). Also I am looking for a 72mm piston.Any sources for parts?
Thanks
