1982 IT175 piston

Hi all. Has anyone done a complete investigation to see if you can use an IT200 piston in a 1982/3 IT175?
The part #s are the same except the prefix and the std. piston rings are the same, indicating the the bores are the same. I suppose what is the most important would be the distance from the wrist pin to the top of the piston..... :think:

Sounds like you need to give Wiseco a call.

Wiseco does not make a piston for this model of IT175. Just the older ones and the 200's.

I'm not sure but I believe the ristpin/bearing are not the same diameter.

That would surely be a deal breaker

Just looked in Babbitts and it shows the same wrist pin but a different needle bearing.
Same rings too.

Was looking at another post and saw a ProX brand piston in the discussion. So I did a little research and found that they have a piston for the 1982/83 IT's for a very reasonable price :cool:
