1996 CR250 Wiseco piston

I was about to put a Wiseco piston kit in my 96 cr 250 when checked to verify that it is the corrct part number.

I have # 702MO6640 but on the Wiseco web page it said I should use # 614MO6640

Anyone know the difference, I thought the cylinders were interchangeable from 92-2001

I think its to do with a dome vs flat top piston.

does it list the year on the box? because wiseco made some part number changes over the years as new bikes came out, you might have got an older piston with the old part number but as long as the box says its for your bike run it it will be fine

The box reads 97-01 so I guess I will have to exchange it

yes if it says 97-01 then exchange it for the correct one if you have a 96.
