1998 Rm Is Hard To Start

I HAVE A 98 RM250 AND TAKES A SERIOUS KICKING TO START I HAVE CHECKED THE COIL GOING TO THE HT LEAD AND IT TESTED FINE. THE BIKE NEVER STARTS ON THE CHOKE IT DOESNT SEEM TO LIKE IT PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Is your pilot jet too lean-i have found on my 04 RM 125 when the pilot is lean its lmost impossible to start.

Possibly cracked or chipped reeds. Can be next to impossible to start cold.

Did you ever get it starting easy? A 98 should start when you step gently on the kicker.

My guess would be reeds, wrong plug, or fuel is not getting in enough at start. Try turning the bike on it's side for a few swconds before you start it to bring in new gas to the carb.
