That would be a good price here in Reno. OTD here would run more like $8000, even for an '01. The rfs are either spoken for, or last 2 days on the showroom floor.

Phil from North County Yamaha called me last night and said they had two '01 520 MXCs, one still in the crate (& ready to ship). He said they were asking around 7,100, which I imagine is retail. He made it sound like this would be the OTD cost.

If you are in the El Paso area a friend of mine is selling an '01 520 MXC for a few hundred less than that. Never been ridden (honestly).

I think it is crazy what these things are going for. But sadly I do believe that anything close to retail is a good price, even at this late date. But I do not have seven thousand dollars.

Looks like I hijacked this thread...

...but I wanted to add that I checked the above poster's profile on the board it was posted on, Thumpertalk, and he is in Alaska

So if that is where the bike is, the freight could be considerable.

There is a 520MXC in Spring Hill, FL at a dealer- OTD including shipping to Ca for $6800. The ad is up on Cycletrader. I'd still have to pay sales tax here in wonderful sunny CA, so it would only work out to $400 off....I'm waiting for an '02.

I paid more than that for mine 2 months ago. By the way, I'm not in the least bit sorry I did. :) Best money I have spent in a long time. Any cost around $7000.00 I think would be a good deal. My 02.
