Just to be clear/sure (before I post a bunch of junk), are you after clicker settings or shim setup?

wow- James: when you say comp piston is that the midvalve stack you are talking about? that looks like a lot of shims- the RM forks have 4 shims on the midvalve and they are generally nice and plush- didnt honda get a lot of kudos for their 02cr250 showas???? what does the passive stack look like?

That is the passive compression stack in the fork cap. I didn't put the midvalve in there as it wasn't requested. BUT, it comes stock as follows:

20.10 (3)
17.10 (4)

It has about .5mm of lift I think but I kind of gave up on getting a super accurate measurement. I am tunring the 00 into a hare Scrambles bike this year so I may just pull one of those 17s out and be done with it.

The 02 forks were surprisingly soft for me even with all of those shims. I had to go a bit stiffer than stock. The 00 has a 9mm clamping shim and that made all the difference for me.

Worked out very well with the forks. Of course as fate would have it, the shock took a dump. Do you have the stock stack info (rebound and compression for the shock). I want to go back to stock while I rebuild it.

I'm surprised at how large the last 5 spacer shims are. Are they really 30.3? This is really great info. I'm sure there are more than one people taking notes. How did you like that stock 02 shock with this valving?

Those last five shims are that thick. Keep in mind they go against that real thick metal washer/platform thing on top of the topout spring...so they don't do anything.

I like the stock shock except when I come up short on stuff. I am a bit heavy for it at 240 lbs but I don't jump super huge stuff nor do I ride all that fast.

O.K. that make sense now. I had it figured upside down, where the large spacers would have been right under the nut. I thought that would have looked funny but nothing from honda would surprise me really. I got the 03cr250 and the shock is comparable with a jack hammer-not good. Thanks for the info!!

If you were holding the shaft in your hand, nut facing upwards, they are situated exactly as listed..top to bottom.

I can see how it might seem like a jackhammer to a lighter guy cause I was surprised at how well it handled me (heavier springs though). I put a CRF450 shock on my 250 and that was like a jackhammer too.....feels nice when I come up short but rattles my teeth over braking/stutter bumps.
