02CR250 valving specs from James

I found one thread answered by James that had the stock valving specs for a 2002 CR250. I think it's a great post!

Ive noticed on the bigger bikes you tend to see a stack of 0.2shims in the LSC on the shock and then some 0.15s-not seen it on the smaller bikes.Wonder why they do that?

Is that possibly a difference between Showa and Kayaba?

I noticed Race Tech is real fond of the thicker shims also.

Yeah marcus youll see like 10 or 12 .15 s on trhe piston face and then a bunch of .2s i think its got to do with thickness coefficient of the shims Or maybe feel . ive always wondered why run sixteen .15 shims why not run 10 .20 shims? but actually from what Ive heard and read there is not a direct relationship in coefficient like two .10 s does not have the same value as a .20 shim . theres a different deflection value that goes up at a higher rate on the thicker shims .So with a higher deflect rate on the 2.0s youll need less of a stack if shaft space is at a premium, maybe the WILKSTER could shed some light on this hes out skiing right now i think. I had some notes from a class i once took but I gotta take a look .

Identical on the base and mid valve.

Haven't had the 01 rebound apart yet. The 00 rebound is the same except for an extra 12.1. So my guess is the 01 rebound is the same as either the 00 or the 02.
