other than the big pilot jet, that sounds like a good combo.  I haven't tried different needles, but noticed the stocker has a lean spot when it's below about 60 degrees F, depending on the fuel and whatever other factors.  For the summer weather we  are having, the stocker is spot on with my combo, but this fall i'll try a smaller (richer) needle like that.  I guess a "70" would be three notches richer than a "73"?

I first tried just the low speed 40 and the main 400 without the needle (because it was on order). It was already much better so I didn't know what to expect from the needle. When I received the needle and tried it, I couldn't believe how crisp it became everywhere. I'm used to jet bikes but I usually try to keep the stock needle and fiddle with clip position. In this case it was worth buying the new needle.

does anyone have a part number for the s8 nozzle? What year or some type of reference so I can try one

The S-8 nozzle is out of a 1996 YZ125 (perhaps other years, also). I believe the part number is 3TC-14141-S8-00.
Retail is around $20.
