I just got my Honda Manual today and I was curious why it says to use Pro-Honda Trans oil, Pro Hondda GN4, or HP4 4 stroke oil, or an equivalent. Pro Honda Trans Oil is SAE80 and what I was going to use. Should I use the 10w40 4 stroke oil instead? Or does it really not matter?

THANKS!

I currently use 10w40 and it seems to work just fine
But if you got that honda trans oil available id take that instead.

My 2002 CR250R gets Type F ATF in it. It works fine and is cheap so I can change it frequently. Cheap oil changed often is MUCH better than some expensive wonder oil that is rarely changed because of its cost.
