hi i'm looking for a bike. i can get a 2003 kx 125 or 2006 tt-r 230. i'm 16 years old, 5'7, and weigh about 130. i have pretty good riding experience. which would be better for me and would be reliable? the kx is $2200 and the tt-r is $2700. thanx!

i have basically those same two bikes. kx is a race bike, more (much more) maintence, but a lot more power (2 stroke power), stiffer (generally better) suspension. 230 has no maintence (on ours, all we've done in 4 years is change oil!), weaker power (enough to get you around pretty much anywhere though), softer (better for woods) suspension

my ex gf's dad bought her a ttr 230, and totally regret it. she was about 10 lbs lighter than you, but the bike is too heavy for her. her dad says the thing is like a damn boat. her ttr-125 fit her much better, but if youre planning on doing some faster riding a two stroke would probly be better

o and i'll be riding in the woods and on the track. i just want a bike that won't be much of a hassle in maintenence. money is an issue for me.

You will have to put more into the KX without a doubt. The TT-R however is likely the most overweight, underpowered, under suspended bike available on the market today, get the KX.
