2004 Yam YZF 250

I am having to consider the YZF250 for my 2003/04 MX racing season as I understand the new Honda CRF250 R won't be out in time.

Has anyone got any views/advice on whether I should hang on and get a 2004 Yam model or whether I should go for the 2003 now and get some practice in ...? I am coming off a KTM125SX so need to adjust ...somewhat !!
