P PAULRY Member Mar 17, 2004 50 0 Nov 11, 2005 #1 I have just received my 2006 YZ 250. Not expecting to see any changes from my 2005 bike, other than the suspension, I noticed the eletronics on the bike was different. My 2006 bike has a sensor on the engine case down by the gear lever. I have not seen this item on the US bikes, pictured in the various publications. Can any one shed some light on what this sensor does?

This sends an input to the BLACK BOX to adjust the ignition map depending on the gear you are in. I bought my bike in Dubai and was dissapointed to find no sensor. I guess they import US Spec bikes.. Cheers.
