If that is true, kawasaki is real dumb. They invested alot of money to finally come out with a competitve machine and they are going to ditch it. True i don't see nany at the track or very rarely but I think it would be unwise. There are a lot of people out there who still appreciate two strokes and there will always be.
yes, they would be real dumb. I checked out alot of the specs on the 06, and they are really impressive. I personally am not a fan of the Kawasaki line of bikes, but the 06 I dont mind
Yeah I highly doubt thta Kawasaki ks going to stop making the KX250 or two strokes in general. I have been hearing rumors like that for years now even though I do want a KXF 250 Four stroke but like many ppl I know do want one its hard to afford one so we all stay with 2 strokes and theres still so many ppl that would love to have a 2 stroke over a 4 stroke so I dont think they will stop making the 2 strokes.
Marcus they could always do what Honda did, BNG for 06 or in kawasaki's case 07. I think the only 2 manufactures that will continue to update there 2 strokes are yamaha or suzuki and to all the people out there that thing two strokes aren't selling my VIN number says my bike is in the 4000's, which is a damn lot of YZ250's.
Paulry hit my response on the head. Suzuki still is pushing development on its 2-strokes, plus they are still selling them. (Odd I know) They make a nice bike and it shows at the track. I see alot more people riding them compared to 3 years ago. I don't think yamaha will stop, they are selling too many. Out of the manufactures it just seems logical that yamaha and suzuki will hold on the longest. I really wouldn't be surprised if yamaha pulls out another trick with there YZ250.
The original thread makes sense. Japan markets bikes that appeal to the masses just as in the car market. Numbers don't lie. Offroad racing and the 2 stroke is a niche market that KTM will rule. The big 4 cover recreational riders and maximum exposure products in our world such as MX & SX. That pretty much rules out the 2 stroke. Professional MX is over for the 2 stroke. SX will adapt to the machinery promoted by the factories and the dollars invested in technology.
The 125 story was easy to predict but the 250 is a little tougher to grasp. The fat lady has sung. 2006 will be a "turning point year" for Japanese 2 stroke engine manufacturers.
