About one month ago I got a KX85 brand new. I just went to the track last night for the first time and realized that the black (maybe oil?) stuff on the bottom of the exhaust pipe wasn't normal. I'm not sure what it is or why it is there, but none of the other 2 strokes or 4 strokes had it. Any suggestions? P.S. using semi-synthetic oil at 32:1 ratio, never had fully synthetic used.

Also, sometimes when I try to start my bike it makes no effort to start, like it is locked up. I have tried starting 1st with clutch and neutral. Any ideas?

TL;DR
Black stuff on bottom of exhaust pipe and locked up when starting. Any ideas?

typically having a bike locked up means it wont start, and i would guess that the black gunk you are seeing is "spooge" its normal to have some(if you dont, you dont have a 2stroke :) ) but you dont want a whole bunch.

It's normal to have some if you don't know how to jet your bike.

2 strokes tend to be jetted rich from the factory.

Do a search for spooge or jetting as the search terms on this forum. You likely need to lean the jetting in the carb.
