The front (exhaust side) of the cylinder is scared. It's deep enough to see, and catch a fingernail on. I also burnt the cylinder on that side (not bad though). Could it just be bored and re-plated to stock bore? I'm looking for a cheap/good fix. I hope to switch to a Gas Gas in the fall, and don't want to sell somebody a bike with major problems, but don't want to sink too much money in it myself.

forget the cheap part !!!!!!!!

there's no such thing as cheap! sounds like its time for Eric's gorr's big bore!!!!! 2mm over bore then replate in my eye's is the only way to go© do a search on sleeving© you should get a ear full!

There's likely no need to sleeve. Most cylinders can be repaired and replated. It sounds like your cylinder is a good candidate for exactly that. Personally I'd rather buy a bike with a recoated cylinder than one that's had a sleeve pressing in. That's just me though I'm sure there are others that would prefer a sleeve, don't ask me why though?
