300 exc front brake

I have a 2001 300 exc and ever since i took it out of the box the front brake pull has been too much. the lever hit my knuckles sometimes! i tried putitng in dot 4 brake fluid becuase the dealer i bought it from said you can mix dot 4 and dot 5.1 (which i cant find any where!). the brakes work fine. a friend of mine has a 2000 300 exc and i tried his break and its not like mine. he said he never touched his. thanks for any response.

All you can really do is put frsh fluid in and bleed the system well. My friend's 99 300mxc has the same problem....We've tried bleeding it and it still isn't anywhere near as firm as my 98 380. Maybe KTM's mastercylinders are a little hit and miss?

I think RoadRunner's right. My '01 400EXC had the same problems. I tried everything and finally ended up putting a Honda master cylinder on it that solved the problem.
