Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for my 2000 300mxc. I just switched to a #7 slide,175main,45pilot,nozi needle 3rd from top,as1.5, and 2 t/o idle. Bike starts fine, runs great on top, but seems to sputter from 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, lots of spooge, but no fouling. This is at 300ft,40:1 mobil 1 94 oct. Should i try to move the needle clip up first or go ahead and change the main and pilot smaller? I would like to try and get it right with the stock needle if thats possible. Thanks for any help!!!:think

Those nozi needles run pretty fat. I would take the needle clip up one step at a time for the 1/4 to 1/2 throttle sputter, spooge problem.

There is a company that makes a jetting kit that works killer for the GasGas's.
It totally cleans up your jetting issues. They claim it also works well on the KTM's.E-mail me for the specifics if your interested.

It's a needle issue. Single Tapers are they way to go on KTMs.

RBW - what needles does the kit come with? How much is the kit. Needles are $5 each from sudco, jets are $3.50 each.

My jetting suggestions for what they're worth on my 2001 300 mxc. Gas...50% race gas/50% pump 93 octane mixed 50/1 with belray H1R...170 main, 42 pilot, #7 slide, NOZI needle clip in top position. Altitude 500 to 700'. Air screw 1.5 depending on temp. Bikes runs clean everywhere. After a 2 hour harescramble will have just a little bit of oil dribble out the silencer. I am a lugger in the woods. In wide open riding staying on the pipe, have no oil out the silencer. I am running the stock MXC 300 silencer.

Strick,
the kit is around $30 and the needle number is a secret. The numbers are ground off.I guess you're paying for the guys knowledge as well as the parts themselves. This kit works flawless on my GasGas,well worth the money.

I am running a #7 slide
DEJ needle in 2nd
45 pilot
178 main

Runs real good I might try dropping the pilot to a 42 but it doesn't load up and I have done ome trail riding with the wife and boy with it and it seems ok with that.

I have also heard that many of the jetting problems with the 300 MXC are with the NOZ series of needles. I tried to find a CEK needle but they're on "national backorder". I went with a CEJ needle (single taper) in the third clip with a 42 pilot and 178 main. I'm running the stock 6.5 slide. I'm still getting a little bit of rough running from 1/8 to 1/4 throttle so I'm not totally done - no spooge. I couldn't keep a plug in it until I got rid of the stock needle.
