44:1 for my YZ 125?

I've just gotten into dirt bikes and I am still in the learning stage, so obviously I am not racing (yet) or going balls to the wall all the time. Will I be ok to run 44:1 with Yamalube 2R with 93 octane on my '97 YZ 125?

I always run 32:1 no matter what bike it is. Its a good proven mix ratio that gives good lubrication to the motor which is expecially what you need on a 125 when you're revving it past 10000K to keep it on the pipe.

Ryan,

Run at 32:1 and rejet. You'll get longer engine life and more horsepower.

I'm a firm believer in 32:1 also.........never had any engine issues or premature wear............oil is cheap compared to engine parts............if it's jetted correctly, it will run nice and crisp with little smoke and minimal spooge out the pipe.

32:1, Aways better to be safe than sorry. Lots of people assume that just because the bottle has different mixing ratio's it's ok to mix what you want. Actually the higher ratio's are there for different riding styles such as trials riders, if they would mix their machines at 32:1 the carb would never clear out and they would foul plugs left and right not to mention the smoke and thats why you will find them mixing at or around 100:1. The more RPM's a engine turns the more oil it needs to lube it's self.

i would use 32:1 i ran it in all my 2 stroke bike and my weed eater
