The question “Should I buy a 450 or a 525?” comes up frequently enough to suggest that many buyers are having difficulty making this decision. Now that the 450 shares the same stroke as the 525, it is easer then ever to increase its displacement! The 450 owners can choose displacements of 510, 540 and 570 using aftermarket services or OEM parts. Of curse a 525 could also be reduced to 450, and several have traded their 520 in for a new 450. The difference in price between the 450 and 525 goes a long way toward the cost of an Eric Gorr big bore kit and you don’t have to stop at 510cc!
