4stroke exc owners question

does your bike have a cover over the air filter? that in the owners manual they call a throttle cap? then they said if it doesnt have this cover its a sx model. what is the difference? whats an sx model? moto cross?

Yes, SX is the motocross model. Kickstart only, no lighting coil, suspension for MX, no spark arrestor, lighter flywheel, etc...

Not sure about the EXC airboxes, though.

Just the black plastic cover that comes on and off. That is the only cover on/in my exc 520.

is it the cover that is right over top of the air filter that contours the dome shape of the filter? if so i dont have that.

You don't want it - it's a HP sucker for weird Euro emiisions and noise testing.

If you duct tape the opening of that cover it makes a nice dust cover when you have your filter out!
