That's the number they have to specify in Europe for emissions reasons(to get particulate emissions under the legal threshold). The compression is prolly backed down a bit to keep oxides of nitrogen down also-which keeps heat down, power down etc, etc.
They may likely give much decreased service intervals for overseas bikes too.
Bingo eric.......mind you I think 60:1 is a little lean. But even the old models come with that recommendation in the manual. I like 40:1on my old 300 banger. But really when it comes to fuel and oil mixes I dont really know **** from clay and its just a personal preference.
