78 1/2 RM250 Need some rebuild help!

Hi Guys,

My dad and I have 78 1/2 rm (I think...)

Aluminum swing arm, dual rear shock set up, plastic tank.

Anyways, we got it running well with relatively little work but it's far from perfect.

One of the rear shocks is completely blown. Any idea if the stock ones are rebuildable and what the availability of parts would be? I've down quite a bit of searching but I'm not finding a lot.

I've seen some after market stuff but it's at least $500 bucks!! not trying to spend more on the shocks than we did for the bike :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No rebuild that I know of. Contact Vintage Suzuki, http://www.vintage-suzuki.com/ . Pretty sure I have seen them cheaper than 500. BUT, you will get what you pay for, as always. Get the length and try fleabay?

Thanks for the link! seems like a good resource. I started taking them apart and they look like throw a ways!! oh well......

I've come across some other similar bikes for sale and they have said rebuilt shocks???
Maybe some were rebuildable or maybe they were aftermarket to begin with??
