Like MARK IT said, they are good bikes for learning but not great jumping bikes due to the suspension. Do you have any experience riding dirt bikes? Let us know your experience level. You might also look over the Yamaha TTR-125 . My two sons (11 & 13 at the time) learned on Honda XR-100's and quickly began riding MX tracks and jumping. We moved up to Honda '01 CR-80's this past September. Great bikes for MX riding & jumping as I would guess the YZ-85, KX-85/100 are also. My (now 14 year old) son is close to your body size and fits the CR-80 just right. The CR-80 has quite a power hit in the mid-upper RPM's so you have to be careful with throttle/power management. You can check my sons dirt bike web sites out in the signature below to see them ride. One note on the *big wheel* versions of the bikes such as the CR-80 Expert and possibly the KX-100. I think (check me if I'm wrong) some AMA districts don't let the *big wheel* bikes race with the 85cc class. They have to race with the 125cc class. So if you plan on racing, check that out. Good Luck and let us know if you need more information!
