84' Honda Z50 motor

I have a stupid but simple question. Is a 84' Honda Z50 mini trail a 4 stroke or 2? And is the fluid in the case supposed to be grey?

4. Yea, the oil will turn grey, change it.

if you've had it a long time or you don't know how long its been do yourself a favor and have the valves adjusted. they get tight and can burn the exhaust valve...especially when old and unkept, as I suspect is the case since the fluid is hammered.
