Does anybody have any information on a spark arrestor for the 85SX that doesn't require a full pipe swap? My son is perfectly happy with the stock power characteristics - it'd be really nice if there was a bolt-on (or drill-rivets, bolt-on, tap-threads, screw-on) solution.

You might check out the Sparky spark arrestor - I think Cobra makes these. They have a series of 'universal' fit, add on spark arrestors. We looked into them, but ultimately decided on waiting for FMF to start shipping Turbine Core II SA's for the bike. I think they are available now.

Check with FMF on the Turbine II or Q SA. They both fit on the stock RM85 pipe. For tight offroad racing, my son likes the Q SA. Said it mellows out the bottom to mid hit. Made the bike for trackable in the mud.

I bought a Sparky when we first got the KTM 85SX since the FMF solution wasn't available. It worked fine. We most recentlyu bought the FMF Quiet Spark Arrestor silencer and it works fine also.
