Thinking about buying a 89 Cr250 from a freind of mine, it needs a little bit of work, the kick starter gear is stripped out and some other minor things. What I was wondering was what year models are the same as the 89? I've seen thing like gasket sets and fork seals all listed together with 89, 90, and 91. Are these three years the same as far as parts are concerned? I think its going to be a nice project bike and am trying to gather info before I start!

Thanks in advance

Actually, that's too general a question to get a correct answer. Alot of the parts will cross over years but then again, alot won't. I know the tank and shrouds don't but I'm sure quite a few engine parts will. The manufacurers change something every year so it will be 'new and improved'. If you want to drive to Knoxville, I have one that needs nothing, plus has a new cylinder, piston, rings, sprockets and chain for $1300. Just spent $600 in new parts and only about 3 hours ride time since.
