89 KDX 200 drain plug

My son managed to cross thread the transmission drain plug. I plan to buy a Heli-Coil thread repair kit, which I have used before and found to be an excellent product.

Is there a specification anywhere that tells what the thread pitch and bolt size is on this particular part?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Phil. I had to do this one time before and it seemed that the shavings worked out of the hole rather than inward.

I too love the smell of 2-stroke "bean" oil. Castrol to be exact ... only, in small doses. Keep the rubber side down" Well, at least before you stop... :aj:
