last month I took apart my sons ds 80 to check all of the clearances, and to see if it needed new rings and piston.Well everything mic'd out ok so I put it all back together, minus the oil injection system,I plugged the venturi on the carb that let the oil in and capped the lines to the oil pump.

SO I have it all back together and fire her up,she fires right up,no probs there,so I take off down the block, shes running great thru all throttle ranges.

When I get to the end of my alley and turn around it died,so I fire her back and go back to my house. As soon as I pull the clutch and stop she just wants to die.It has compression, spark, and fuel.
I pulled the pipe apart and cleaned it out, took off the carb and cleaned it.

Could anyone give me some insight on how to keep it running while in gear?

jets are stock
my carb settings are 1 1/8 out on the air/fuel
2nd clip from top
and idle screw is at like 1/2 turn

well I just took the carb off again, leaned it down one clip on the needle.

I also check the float level,it was more than 10 mm
high{I think thats high, the carb upside down float just barley making contact with pin}!!!!

gonna run it agin right now.

***just got back****

better, but not right yet, wants to stay running now but it will eventualy die.
I guess I am on the right track.
