97 yz 125 crank replacement

I need to replace the left crank case half on my 97 yz 125. I found a 1999 and a 1996 on ebay for reasonable pricing. Will either of those fit on a 97 model? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think case halfes are machined together as a pair.
So you may consider repairing it or changing both... but i can be wrong.

The mechanic said that he only would need the left side as he has been able to do that in the past. He is replacing the left side instead of trying to pull out the busted stud bolts. I am unfamiliar with all this, but I will take his word for it as he is well respected with his work.
